Review of The Book of Mormon

So, way better than I expected! To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. All I knew going in was that it was put together by the creators of South Park (that kind of gave me a huge hint as to how the show would go.) I know I am a late adopter as this show has been running for some time now; however, for being my first musical, I think it was the perfect show...
Debauchery, crass behavior, rampant swearing and an overall delicate subject matter were all but some of the things The Book of Mormon had going for it, which, to my understanding, is not your typical musical experience... I had heard both horribly negative reviews and over the top positive reviews of the show, so I went in to last night with a bit of trepidation. Once seated in the beautiful Bank of America Theater in downtown Chicago, I instantly felt the electricity in the air. We had balcony seats and a wonderful view of the venue. Once the show started, the show took off and had the crowd around us laughing, clapping and cheering loudly as each scene came to a close. I highly recommend the show to anyone willing to have a fun night on the town. **Disclaimer** It is not for the sensitive or easily offended type. If you don't have a sense of humor, you have no business watching this show. Do yourself a favor and stay home. **
