The day after...

So, Valentine's Day came and went... I don't know about you, but it wasn't too big of a blip on my radar. When I was out buying my wife a card (yes, on the day of) I saw a big box store already had the Easter displays out... It seems, according to the massively scaled corporations peddling all sorts of generic, common products, that the seasons are merely another consumer-driven speed bump on the road of capitalism. I love capitalism, and money, and other things that come from making art and creating... but I love, quite a bit more than the aforementioned, the ability to savor. By simply enjoying the current time, season, holiday, etc., wholeheartedly, instead of idly biding your time until the next one is upon us, one may actually get a real sense of what the season is intended to be...

I write this because Easter is around the corner and its significance is grand. The resurrection of a King is to be remembered and honored. Instead, mass market appeal will lend itself well to ten pound chocolate Easter bunnies parading around in fake, plastic grass-lined baskets. Do the math... savor.
